Take Every DOUBT Captive.

Have you ever experienced uncertainty... about yourself, a relationship, God's purpose for you, or which direction to go next? Rest assured. You are not alone!

Doubt is an all too frequent and all too common challenge for all believers.

Look, my friend - I will always be 100% real with you: I believe in Jesus Christ as my LORD and Savior... AND (not but!) I am a hot mess!

I struggle daily in my walk with Jesus. I struggle with vanity, selfishness, materialism, people-pleasing.... and the list goes on!

In addition to these, I struggle a lot with doubt!

Just last week, in fact, I found myself overwhelmed with doubt. Specifically, doubt about THIS! (the Christian Youth Network).

• Doubting if this is God's direction for me.

• Doubting my motives/intentions for CYN (for example: "Am I making this about me and or about God?")

• Doubting my own ability to discern the Voice/Truth of God.

I was allowing so much doubt to "set up shop" in my mind that I became overwhelmed with anxiety and fear. So much so that I spent my whole therapy session last week wigging out about it.

And it was my therapist who asked me this simple question:

"If you want to spread the Word of God, who would this intimidate the most, and who would fight like hell to keep you from doing it?"

***The answer is this: the enemy of God, satan, the great deceiver, the devil.

And how could satan most subtly, sneakily, and effectively try to keep you from doing what God has called His followers to do?

***The answer is this: DOUBT!

Look at what the Word of God (the Bible) says about doubt:

"You can call upon the LORD to deliver you from doubt, fear, and worry." - Psalm 50:15

In addition to this, the Word of God tells us exactly HOW to overcome the lies of satan (aka: doubt):

"When you doubt, you should keep praying, asking, and seeking God." - Matthew 7:7-8

"Faith is the remedy for doubt, and faith comes by hearing the Word of God." - Romans 10:17

Beloved, you don't have to be a slave to doubt anymore! Freedom lies in faith in Jesus!

And if you think that your faith is not strong enough right now to conquer your doubts, take comfort in this awesome truth:

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God. - Ephesians 2:8
